Opus 8

Eight voices. Centuries of music.

Welcome, Jamie and Bryan!

This past May we said goodbye to tenor Peter Mowat, who has been with us since the very beginning. Joining us in the tenor position is Jamie Tuttle. Also recently departed is Sean Nix, having sung with us since 2016. His big shoes were temporary filled by Matthew Lee, until Bryan Martin could step in for the long-haul. Welcome to both Jamie and Bryan - we looking forward to making some goodly noise with them both!

With summer nearly upon us, and despite a few late-spring colds, we've managed to gussy ourselves up for some group shots with our new singers Jamie and Bryan, as well as updated bio photos. Over the summer we'll be rehearsing for our August 17th concert in Wellington, to open the Wellington Water Week festival, and for our upcoming recording sessions in late summer. Our sophomore album will feature rarely or never recorded songs both modern and ancient - we hope to have it ready for your listening pleasure by January 2020, so stay tuned!

If you would like to make a donation to Opus 8, you can do so online here or follow the instructions here to make a tax-deductible donation by cheque. We are looking forward to another exciting year of music making, bringing you some of the wonderful fruits of our recording labours, and continuing to explorer weirder and more wonderful a capella music. Check back here in the fall for our updated list of concerts, and follow us on social media!

We hope you have a marvelous summer!
