Wellington Water Week: How Can I Keep from Singin'?

  • WELLINGTON UNITED CHURCH 243 Main Street Wellington, ON Canada (map)

Opus 8 is honored to open this year’s Wellington Water Week on August 17th.

Inspired by Stockholm, Sweden's World Water Week Symposium, partnering groups in the community will once again unite from August 17-25 to transform the village of Wellington, Prince Edward County, into a canvas celebrating the element that connects us all. The festival is a week-long celebration giving artistic voice to water's ability to mystify, awe, connect, inspire and define us. The musical programming is organized Music Director, Johannes Debus and Assistant Music Director, Elissa Lee.

Opus 8 in concert - Eight of Toronto's finest ensemble singers offer a delightful evening of a cappella folksongs old and new, including rarities by Gombert and Marenzio as well as familiar pieces in brand-new arrangements by Director of Music, Robert Busiakiewicz. This concert promises something for everyone, from the melancholy laments of lost love to boisterous sea-shanties.
